About Us

The Sullivan County Democratic Committee is the official Democratic Committee in Sullivan County, New York. Our mission is to inspire and encourage the greatest number of Democrats to participate in the affairs of the Democratic Party of Sullivan County, to insure the continuing success of the Democratic Party and to elect Democratic Candidates to provide the best possible responsible government for the people of Sullivan County, its Towns and the State of New York.

Members are elected from all 15 Towns in the County. The Committee elects a Chairperson, Associate Chair, Vice-Chair, a Secretary and a Treasurer every two years at its Re-Organizational meeting. A Convention is held once a year for the purposes of endorsing candidates and other business that may come before it. The SCDC has an Executive Committee comprised of the Chairs from each Town, the officers of the Committee, elected County officials along with members selected by the Chair. The SCDC is proud to sponsor the following official Clubs: Democratic Women of Sullivan County, the Black & Latino Club and the Sullivan County Young Democrats.

Being a Committee Member is participation in the Democratic Party at its most grass-roots level.   Running for this position involves a petition process, which takes place every two years (in odd numbered years.)  As a member of a Town Committee, you also become a member of the County Committee.   For more information, contact your Town Chair or email us here.
