Let’s spread some love! MLK Day of Service

January 17, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Please join us for a virtual Valentine making party on January 17th. We hope to collect as many valentine cards as possible to distribute to Sullivan County folks in the nursing homes, who are homebound or otherwise in need of a little love.
Observed each year on the third Monday in January, Martin Luther King Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
We will meet and make cards together by zoom, but if you aren’t able to join that way, you can still make some cards!
Once we get a general idea of where you all are, we’ll organize collection points for the valentines in the coming weeks. They will be distributed close to Valentine’s day by a dedicated group of volunteers.

Coretta Scott King said, “The greatest birthday gift my husband could receive is if people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds celebrated the holiday by performing individual acts of kindness through service to others.”
