Dear Rally for Ukraine organizers and supporters,

I regret that I am unable to attend today’s rally for Ukraine at the Lumberland Town Hall in person, but I  want to convey to you that I stand in strong solidarity with our Ukrainian-American citizens and  communities and with the Ukrainian People as a whole to unequivocally condemn the unprovoked and  illegal invasion of Ukraine and the acts of terror that continue to be carried out against the Ukrainian  People by Vladimir Putin and his regime.

Acts of this nature echo back to some of the darkest days in our world’s history, but it was moments like  those and moments like now, that we unite our country and the international community to push back  against the forces of oppression and tyranny that wish to impose their authoritarian vision of the world  upon sovereign nations and people. These forces of tyranny cannot outlast or withstand people’s  yearnings to be free, and for nations to have the right of self determination.

I call on the people of our state, national, and international communities to continue our steadfast, unified  support of our Ukrainian brothers and sisters through this ongoing conflict and resistance. We demand  Vladimir Putin and his regime immediately cease hostilities and remove their troops from the sovereign  nation of Ukraine.

In Solidarity,

Eric Ball

NYS Senate Democratic Candidate District 44
